On January 21, 2026, Guizhou tax authorities published a China Tax News piece on a new payment-triggered invoicing pilot in jewelry retail. The first trial in the province’s gold and jewelry retail sector went live at Botai Jewelry in Zhijin County. After a customer pays, invoice information is prefilled automatically, a digital invoice is generated instantly, and it is pushed to the customer’s phone without manual intervention. The report said the model eases seasonal invoice bottlenecks for retailers and links business and financial data in real time, automating issuance, statistics, and collection while lowering compliance risk.
