According to the Jiangsu tax authority's August 3, 2026 report, the Zhonglou district tax bureau in Changzhou introduced a combination of lightweight video transmission and AI recognition for fuel-retail supervision. The public report says the tax bureau collects vehicle model, plate, and entry-exit timing data through cameras, transmits the information securely for intelligent analysis, estimates fuel volumes, and runs a full closed-loop workflow covering data capture, intelligent calculation, alert comparison, risk response, and remediation feedback. The bureau says it has already rolled out smart supervision to 32 fuel stations and prompted voluntary tax repayments from some private operators. The case shows AI recognition and cross-department data coordination becoming practical tools for tax risk governance.
