Tax Support for Smart Manufacturing: 5G Factories Thrive Across Anhui

Anhui has seen a wave of 5G factories in recent years: six of the 100 typical 5G factory applications named by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology this year are in the province, among the highest nationally. Sectors range from liquor brewing and coal preparation to new-energy vehicle parts and solid-state batteries. Tax staff in Bozhou visited Gujing Gongjiu's intelligent brewing workshop to explain policies including the one-off pre-tax deduction for equipment, and the park's production equipment networking rate now exceeds 96 percent, with per-worker capacity more than ten times that of traditional lines. At Huaibei Mining's Linhuan coal preparation plant, inspection robots scan for risks while local tax authorities use the environmental protection tax's pollute-more-pay-more mechanism to encourage investment in smart abatement equipment; since 2020 the company has received over 34 million yuan in environmental tax reductions and ploughed it all into smarter processes, cutting electricity intensity by 11 percent and steam consumption by 44 percent. In Anqing Welling auto parts' 5G workshop, collaborative robots present motor housings to industrial cameras and inspection results return from the cloud in under 50 milliseconds; tax officials helped the firm properly collect R&D spending on 5G gateways and AI vision algorithms, earning more than 2 million yuan of equipment investment credits, and the company now runs a plant-wide 5G private network covering smart logistics, security and energy.
