Guangdong's tax authority has kept pushing tax services online: 267 tax and fee matters can now be handled digitally, 266 of them end to end, and 99.63 percent of items require no trip to a service hall. From January to July 2026 the province processed more than 100 million filing, payment, invoice and application transactions, 95.04 percent through the e-tax bureau, with 90 percent of high-frequency services completed within three minutes. Cross-region tax reports that once meant queuing at a counter with paper documents are now filed online and closed the same day. Filing itself has also become easier: shared inter-agency data lets the system pre-fill and calculate automatically, cutting the average filing time from 20 minutes to under three, while the smart self-check launched last year spares staff from manual cross-checking. More than 70,000 Macao residents insured in Zhuhai can now pay mainland and Macao social insurance contributions simultaneously through the e-tax bureau.
