On 19 May the State Taxation Administration published invoice data: in January-April, revenue from electronic specialty materials and integrated circuit manufacturing — directly tied to AI production and use — rose about 70% and more than 50% year on year respectively, while smart in-car devices and robots grew about 50% and nearly 30%. Investment is following: IC manufacturing investment rose more than 10% and information services nearly 20%, with equipment purchases by internet-related services up over 80%. Exports were strong too, with IC exports up more than 70%, industrial robot exports up 30% and IC exports nearly doubling in April alone. Luo Zhiheng, chief economist at Yuekai Securities, said AI's impact is now visible in production, investment, exports and prices, as demand for computing power and smart terminals pulls up electronics, chips and robotics. Huang Lixin of the STA's Tax Science Research Institute said the data show a firmer base for economic recovery.
