The State Taxation Administration took stock of the embodied-AI industry using invoice data: in the first five months of 2026, revenue at these companies rose more than 20% year on year, after 13.9% growth in all of 2025. Robot bodies and complete machines grew about 30%, AI algorithms and software integration nearly 25%, and system integration and industry applications close to 30%, while core component manufacturing lagged at 6.8%. Ties to factories are deepening: industrial purchases of embodied-AI robots in the first five months were more than three times last year's level, and revenue from integration, deployment and maintenance services nearly tripled. The industry is highly concentrated, with almost 90% of firms in Guangdong, Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang and Jiangsu, and Guangdong alone accounting for nearly 80% of revenue. An STA official said the administration will continue to implement industry tax-support policies and service innovations to help the sector grow.
