China Tax News reports that tax services are evolving in step with the digital transformation of the Canton Fair. In earlier years, tax support around the event mainly meant temporary service points near the exhibition halls, but this later became a dedicated support mechanism with green channels for export tax refunds. As the fair moved into a hybrid online-plus-offline model, tax services also shifted toward cloud-based coordination. Through the international trade single-window system, export tax refunds are now handled fully online, with average processing times cut to five working days and to three days for qualified top-tier exporters. The report adds that since 2023, tax authorities have introduced an intelligent answering robot and an AI media anchor into the fair environment, and this year launched self-service departure-tax-refund issuance so overseas shoppers can scan identification and generate refund forms automatically. The China Foreign Trade Centre Group also opened Leqi direct connectivity with tax guidance to handle high-volume invoicing needs. Together, these measures show tax informatization extending from consultation and refund support toward real-time invoicing, intelligent Q&A, cross-border consumer services, and direct enterprise-system connectivity.
