The OECD report tracks digital progress across 54 member tax administrations in six modules. On digital identity, most taxpayers already use secure digital identities to access online tax services, and more than 80 percent of authorities are developing APIs to integrate with third-party systems. On taxpayer touchpoints, electronic invoicing and similar tools let nearly 40 percent pre-fill VAT returns and about a quarter pre-fill corporate income tax returns. Data management best shows the trend: over 70 percent already use artificial intelligence to improve internal efficiency and services, most commonly to detect evasion and fraud, then for risk assessment. Nearly 80 percent have a digitalisation strategy backed by senior governance, and about 85 percent say they have the talent, skills and infrastructure to analyse big data.
