Changzhou tax authority leans on smart filing and targeted reminders to cut compliance effort

Since the 2026 Spring Breeze service campaign began, the Changzhou tax bureau has built a filing-quality evaluation system that combines self-check indicators, system indicators and locally developed metrics, cross-validating data and pushing risk alerts to taxpayers by category in a loop of evaluation, warning, coaching and correction. Spreadsheet macros and VBA scripts are used to clean repetitive or invalid data. The city has delivered 1.8 million smart interactive service sessions and 7.15 million policy reminders this year, while second-hand housing transactions, flexible-employment social insurance payments and departure tax refunds have all been simplified.

Changzhou's tax authority has focused this year's service campaign on the filing stage. It built a filing-quality evaluation method that pools self-check indicators, system indicators and locally added metrics, cross-compares the data, flags the fragile spots and pushes them to companies by severity, following through with reminders, coaching and correction. Frontline staff also wrote small tools with spreadsheet macros and VBA to clean repetitive or useless data first, saving manual effort. So far this year the city has delivered more than 1.8 million smart interactive service sessions and over 715,000 policy reminders; second-hand home transactions are completed in one visit at a housing service centre, flexible-employment social insurance registration and payment are handled as a single matter, and departure tax refunds have moved online with paperless processing and shorter handling times.
